Hayley Smart from St Albans is the lucky winner of Foxy Bingo’s Foxy Turns You On competition for 2014.
Every year, Foxy gives away Christmas! Yes, that means everything from mince pies to street parties to celebrate!

This year’s was worth a huge £15,000 and Hayley couldn’t be happier!

This is the poem she submitted and why she was crowned winner of Foxy Turns You On:

Last year’s Christmas was cheerless and murky, tree went bald I burnt the turkey, dog had needle in his paw, suffered a visit from mother in law, I was ill, I stayed in bed, constant vomit pounding head, decorations were tatty and homemade, moth-eaten, shabby, worn and frayed, kids were bored tried to be glad, even though our efforts were sad, money was tight so gifts were sparse, frankly Christmas was a pain in the…bottom, please Foxy help me redeem, make this Christmas a nicer dream.

Hayley beat more than 3,000 people to the top prize, and Foxy Bingo obviously thought she was a worthy winner, and not just because of the great poem!

She describes the previous Christmas: “Last Christmas we all struck down by food poisoning. It was awful. The whole family were sick, so it was a bit depressing to be honest.

“When I saw Foxy’s competition advertised online, I thought I could take that negative experience and turn it into something positive, which I’ve done. I’m so pleased to have won and Christmas is going to be great this year.”

The 41-year old’s house has been decorated in more than 5,500 Christmas lights, covering an amazing 213 metres. They include LED curtains, a canopy of stalactite lights and illuminated features for the roof and in the garden.

As well as turning her house into a Winter Wonderland, Foxy Bingo also threw a street party for the residents of Green Lane to mark the big switch-on. Hayley was joined by her children Ashley and Jasmine, and many neighbours and friends. Foxy himself was there to feed and water all the guests!

Grace McMillan, Head of Community at Foxy Bingo said: “We received over 3,000 amazing entries for this year’s competition but Hayley’s poem was a cracker! Christmas can be a stressful time of year, we all invest so much time and effort to have the perfect day that I think Hayley’s poem really struck a chord with the judges.

From everyone at Foxy Bingo, we want to wish Hayley and her family a very Merry Christmas.”
