There are reports that a pensioner collapsed and fell into unconsciousness whilst playing bingo at the Gala Bingo in Crawley on Tuesday night.
An ambulance was called to the scene, on Queensway in the town centre at 7.55pm.
The pensioner involved is believed to be a woman in her 80s. She reportedly collapsed in the bingo hall, having suffered what was called a “medical episode”.
She was unconscious for some time, said a spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
After being treated by paramedics at the scene she did come round, and it was judged that she didn’t need to go to hospital. The woman was referred to her GP instead.
What an unfortunate event to happen at what we would assume was an enjoyable day out for the lady in question – we send our wishes for a speedy recovery.
