The No Deposit Bonus
Some slots sites offer no deposit bonuses, generally in the form of free spins on a particular slot game. But don’t think this comes without any restrictions – you’ll likely have to deposit money, wager your bonus several times and forfeit the rest of your bonus in order to withdraw any winnings.
Many online slots sites will offer you exclusive bonuses on your first or first few deposits, which may be given as deposit bonuses in bonus cash or bonus spins for particular games. In our reviews, we look closely at what every site offers, and what the terms and conditions are – though it’s always worth checking the terms and conditions on the slots site for yourself, as some sites sneakily change their offers without making it obvious.
What Slots Games Can I Expect?
If we tried to list every game available on every slots site, we’d be here all year. There’s a huge range available across casino and slots sites, and if you’ve never played slots before, it may be hard to find where to start. You can generally expect games from the following developers:
- And more!
However, don’t expect that bigger sites and recognisable names have access to a better or wider range of slots – this isn’t necessarily always the case. You can generally have a look around the site before you sign up – obviously this isn’t always possible, but we’ve tried to list some of the slots available at particular sites in our reviews – and decide if the slots selection looks appealing to you. There are many reasons they might appeal – the design, the theme, the number of reels, the popularity of the game, the software, the prizes offered – and different players have different reasons for their favourites, so if you’ve never played before, it’s best to just have a click around and try them out until you find one you like. Some sites offer free demo versions of the games for you to have a go at, and you can also find demo videos of some slots online – so you don’t have to pay a penny.
What Other Games Are Available?
It won’t just be slots that you’ll find at online slots and casino sites! You can expect to find table games such as poker, roulette, blackjack, craps and more, with some sites offering live games played with real dealers and not just a computer. You can sometimes also find scratchcards and lotto games, so have a click around and investigate the games before you sign up. There are often different rules with wagering requirements on these games, though, so make sure you check out all the terms and conditions before playing.
Many slots sites take similar methods of payment to online bingo sites, but you may notice a few differences. PayPal, for example, is a less commonly accepted method – some online casino sites take it, but it’s not as common a method as on bingo sites. Obviously you can still pay with credit or debit cards at virtually any casino site, and other common methods include Paysafecard, Skrill, Neteller, bank transfer, and pay by phone – so you still have plenty of choice depending on how important privacy is to you.
If you’ve played at a bingo site before, you’ll be all too familiar with wagering requirements. For the uninitiated, this basically means that you’ll have to play through your bonus a certain amount of times before you can withdraw anything – and depending on the site you play at, those wagering requirements could be pretty high. Always check the terms and conditions before you sign up or deposit anything, or you could be in for a nasty surprise when trying to claim your winnings.
In the terms and conditions for any bonus promotion at an online slots or online casino site, you’ll see a statement such as “40x wagering applies”. This number – 40, in this case – is how many times you’ll have to play through the bonus and deposit before you can withdraw your money. So that’s 40x the bonus offered, PLUS 40x your original deposit. So let’s have a look at the maths.
If the site’s requirements say 40x wagering, and it offers a deposit bonus of 100%, and you deposit £10 (so you’d get a £10 bonus):
Wagering requirement = (40 x 10) + (40 x 10) = 800.
That means you will have to play through £800 at the site before you can withdraw anything. So definitely watch out for those terms and conditions before you get sucked in by a big bonus offer!
There are other things to remember about wagering requirements too. Some games don’t contribute 100% to wagering requirements, so you’ll have to play even more of them in order to meet the requirements – table games often only contribute a percentage of every pound wagered, so you might take a while to plough through the requirements if you’re into those.
Of course, some sites don’t have wagering requirements – it’s pretty easy to tell when they don’t, as they know they’re a source of player irritation! Sites such as Play OJO advertise their lack of wagering requirements heavily as a big draw for players – and they’ve received positive reception. So maybe we’ll see more sites heading this way soon? But until then, we can’t stress this enough – always check the terms and conditions before depositing!
