Kindred Passes £1B Annual Revenue in 2020
The Kindred Group, known for their world famous Unibet brand, announced roaring revenues in 2020, passing £1 billion for the first time in the company’s history.
The Group’s Chief Executive, Henrik Tjarnstrom, stated that “It’s the strongest financial results we’ve ever delivered at the Kindred Group, by some margin.”
He put the success down to adept navigation in difficult global circumstances.
Where did the earnings come from?
Of this £1.13 billion in revenue, the majority came from casino, poker and other gaming verticals like bingo. Kindred’s best known bingo site is bingo.com. This portion of revenue grew to £642 million, up almost 35% from the year before.
The rest of the revenue was made up by sports betting, which also grew over 10% from the year before. This, especially, is a remarkable achievement given the disruption to live sport in 2020.
Gaming revenue in Western Europe was up 47% from the previous year and was especially strong in the United Kingdom. We take particular interest in this, as the majority of our traffic comes from the United Kingdom.

Kindred’s Future Plans
2021 looks to be another barnstorming year for the company with growing expansion in the United States. The Unibet brand is being rolled out to Illinois and Iowa this year. The company also announced a joint venture with the Quechen Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation to enter the Arizona and California markets.
The company has also pledged to reduce revenues from high risk gamblers that could be in danger of developing gambling problems. Their own report into the issue showed that around 4% of current revenue comes from high risk gamblers. They have stated their intention to lower this figure to 0% by 2023.
