Top 5 Independent Slot Sites with Deep Dive – September 2026
Our Key Features Table of Independent Brands
Our Timeline of New Independent Casino Sites in the UK
Why choose Independent UK Casinos? – The Advantages
Who are these independent casino sites not for? – The Disadvantages
On this, one of our newer pages, we’ve listed dozens of Independent UK casinos which you may never have heard of before, because they don’t run on the major platforms. That means that each one of these sites is unique and goes against the grain. If you’re a little sick of the same damn welcome offers and cookie cutter designs, then check out some of these snowflakes – each one is different!
Here, I’ll take you through why you might want to choose standalone casinos in the UK and what the potential advantages and disadvantages are.
Honestly, these are some of my favourite sites that we list at WDW and hopefully I can get across why I think you should give them some love too. Having said all of that, some of these sites might not be for everyone. I’ll also explain who these sites might not be for and where these players should go instead!
What are independent slot sites?
Independent slot sites are those that run on their own, unique platforms. They are not part of a larger network of homogenous sites.
The vast majority of online slot sites out on the market are operated by big beast companies that run lots of sites or licence out their identikit platforms to “white-label” operators. This means that you’ll likely see dozens of sites that look very familiar, whether that’s because the welcome bonus and promotions are the same, or the selection of games seem similar.
Some of the most famous slot platform behemoths include Jumpman, Aspire, Progress Play, Dragonfish and Skill on Net.
That’s not to say that these platforms are bad. Some are very good and have been impressing players for many years making devoted fans out of them. Skill on Net, for example, pioneered a unique approach to online gaming through their PlayOJO brand. Jumpman, too, produce an eye-watering number of joyful brands with creative and colourful themes. They’ve even branched out and offer an abundance of welcome offers now too.
But what if you were looking for something completely different and found a site that offered you something genuinely unique? This is why we’re showing you the best new independent slot sites that run on their own exclusive platforms.
Top 5 Independent Slot Sites with Deep Dive – September 2026
- 666 Casino (New – July 2026)
- BetAhoy (New)
- Stakewise (New – August 2026)
- Mr Luck
- Bingo Britain
These are the current best 5 independent casinos in my opinion, after signing up and having a good route around each of them. Here I give a deep dive into each one, and why they’ve received my official seal of approval.
666 Casino
666 Casino is not as old as its evil subterranean inspiration, in fact quite the opposite. It is a brand-new casino, backed by Jupiter Gaming technology. It’s our most popular casino with players right now and will therefore likely stay perched atop the rankings for a while. Why?
What makes it special
- Freshness – This site is the newest. That is an objective fact – no amount of tinkering and testing by me could change that fact.
- Unique Licence – Though the platform will be familiar to those who have played sites like Red Casino, there are not many brands on their bespoke licence. That will give you deposit and playthrough advantages.
- Easy sign-up – Once you click through our link, the special casino offer will be pre-filled in for you. In my experience, the casino’s due-diligence checks have been light-touch and non-invasive, but, of course, thorough and of a standard expected by the regulatory regime. We love casinos that are player-friendly and 100% up to code!
- Generous Casino Welcome Offer – I’m not going to lie, new players will get an enormous number of no wagering free spins on their first deposit. It is about as good as it gets right now.
One issue to keep in mind
Having only just launched, there are only a few games studios live at the minute. I do expect that to change as I’ve seen first hand other similar casinos roll out like that.
Verdict

Bingo Plus
Bingo Plus has bingo in the name and bingo in its soul, with the UK’s best live dealer bingo games! But after expanding its slots and games collection and implementing a free spins offer, Bingo Plus is an unbelievably well kept secret that we didn’t want just the bingo players to have to themselves.
What makes it special
- Homegrown UK business – If you want to be part of a proper British success story, then join Bingo Plus. I’ve been to visit their headquarters in Hull and it was just a brilliant day out. They have an independent licence of course, but that’s just the start of all things independent at the site.
- The new low cost welcome offer – For just a £5 deposit, you get a unique bonus. This is what has helped them bridge the gap from just being on the bingo pages to our slot pages too.
- Loyalty rewarded with PlusCoins – At the end of last year, Bingo Plus introduced one of the best loyalty schemes still running. Earn PlusCoins through play and receive prizes like free spins in return.
One issue to keep in mind
There’s not so much in the casino game and live casino department, which is to be expected for a site that focuses on bingo. But I want to reiterate, slots fans should still apply! The selection is getting better all the time. Also, the operating team have had some issues with the spins welcome offer which may mean the offer may disappear periodically while these are ironed out. I will endeavour to keep you updated!
Verdict

Dream Jackpot
Dream Jackpot shares much DNA with 666 Casino, most notably the same Jupiter Gaming platform that runs through it. Though the brand has been around for a few years, they had a rebranding and re-licensing in 2026.
What makes it special
- Unique Licence – That gives players the ultimate financial flexibility, unlike when dozens of sites are housed on the same licence (you won’t find any of those on the independent casino page, I can tell you that!)
- Generous no wagering free spins – Dream Jackpot, like its devilish brother, has one of the most generous welcome offers. Even though wagering requirements were lowered across the board in January 2026, most sites have opted to go to the upper end of that range. Not Dream Jackpot!
- Larger selection of software developers and games than some – We expect more to follow but that’s a comparatively big tick in the Dream Jackpot column and is likely to keep them popular for a while.
- Fast Payouts – I’m pleased to say I’ve been a beneficiary of a fast payout from Dream Jackpot. Everything was smooth from the sign-up to the financial checks. The site has got a customer flow process at the moment that a few of these other sites should be emulating!
One issue to keep in mind
If you prefer the extra layer of security that e-wallets provide (or you’re a conspiracy theorist who doesn’t like big banks) then Dream Jackpot is probably not for you. But fear not, we’ve got other sites that’ll allow you a Paysafe here or a Trustly there.
Verdict

Ken Howells
Ken Howells may sound like a bloke you just met down the pub, but I can assure you this brand is so much more. Driven by EveryMatrix tech, similar to one of our previous faves Bet Tom, Ken Howells is a mix of modern and old-school, thanks to its history as a telephone betting company.
What makes it special
- An everything emporium – Slots: tick. Live Casino: tick. Sports betting: tick. Ken Howells is an incredibly well rounded independent casino with something for everyone. The sports betting product is incredibly competitive, especially when it comes to UK horse and greyhound racing.
- The licence – Completely unique and standalone while having some equally bespoke software from EveryMatrix.
- Fast Payouts – I can confirm same-day payouts, which I know players really value. Of course, there may be circumstances where there is a delay, perhaps because more due diligence is required. But hey, these are the protections necessary in a regulated industry to keep everyone safe.
One issue to keep in mind
The welcome offer. The cashback welcome bonus is not that great. It probably won’t factor at all in your decision to sign-up at Ken Howells. But that’s ok, because there’s so much more to enjoy once you’re in!
Verdict

Rose Casino
The launch of the Betable licence was hugely exciting at the end of 2024 with the arrival of Ivy Casino. Rose Casino has subsequently launched and their new 2026 welcome offer has catapulted them back into the stratosphere of our independent page.
What makes it special
- New no wagering spins offer – Before the 2026 bonus changes, they didn’t have an offer as good as this.
- Easy to sign-up – In my experience, very little of your data is required when you first sign-up. Love that technology!
- Unique licence, trusted technology – Rose Casino has that sweet mix of a completely unique licence, unencumbered by white labels. But the bespoke software is powered by tried and true platform operators Grace Media. You’re getting the best of both worlds.
One issue to keep in mind
There is a rather disappointing lack of casino games for a brand that calls itself a casino. In fact, last time I was having a play, there were no live casino games at all. These are the bread and butter of online games, as well the hugely popular live game shows we have now. I’m aware that this will put off some of you.

Our Timeline of New Independent Casino Sites in the UK
2022 – A fresh trend?
This page’s journey began back in 2022, when I noticed that proprietary casinos running on their own exclusive software started to be increasingly popular with our users. Many of our most popular and best performing brands were not tethered to the large platforms.
The arrival of Merkur Slots, the online slots version of the high street brand formerly known as Cashino, was very well received in 2022 and run on Eyas Gaming technology. Unfortunately, the company then went on to shelve their plans for more UK sites and took it off the market. But it really showed me the direction of travel.
2023 – Mad Brands!
To make it as an independent operator is not easy. Brands that seemed really exciting at the time, like MadSlots which launched on the undersaturated Viral Interactive platform, went caput after a bunch of company failings. If I had to pick out one of the potential disadvantages it’s the precariousness of some of these lone wolves, without big corporate backing. One mistake, or the industry winds shift, and it could be all over.
2024 – The Independent Revolution we still see today?
In 2024, we listed more revolutionary independent casinos than ever before. We struck up a personal relationship with the team at Midnite, which with a bit of hindsight, is the brand that has most ushered in the new generation of independent casino betting sites we have today. We were one of the first comparison sites to test their brand new casino welcome offer. Let’s be frank, you loved it!
2025 – The Playbook Platform breaks the mould
The Playbook platform has been a true revelation. One of the first operators that took my notice was NRG Bet. I met the manager at one of the industry conferences we frequently attend in London, and since then we’ve had multiple popular launches on the platform that has been a favourite for many players. We felt the electricity early on. They even added Pragmatic Play bingo to sites like NRG for a while which meant they became a true metropolis of gambling; casino, slots, bingo and sports betting.
Frankly, the brands on this platform got even better and some of the latest and best casino sites with new, independent licences are BetWright & Dragonbet. While both are on the Playbook platform, they have their own licences, so the brands are now completely unburdened! These evergreen brands are still as popular as ever.
2026 – More Playbook & EveryMatrix break through
Entering 2026, BestOdds builds on this incredible tradition of top Playbook sites that have completely unique licences, awarded by the UK Gambling Commission. This has been one of the best performing new brands of the year.
Competing with Playbook for the best platform is EveryMatrix, and our most popular of these sites, bet TOM, went live; a true British success story based in East Sussex, on a completely new and unique licence. A sister site of BetGoodwin, bet TOM has been 10x more successful. It is a true player favourite with a fun and down-to-earth British flavour.
Lastly, I’d like to give our current site of the month, Stakewise, its flowers. Players are voting with their sign-ups; this is by far our most popular listing right now and has been since we went live in August 2026. Powered by Swifty and its very own UKGC licence, Stakewise is the place to be!
Why choose Independent UK Casinos? – The Advantages

There are plenty of advantages to choosing an independent slot or casino site which players are picking up on fast. We’ve split them into five basic categories, although there are probably plenty more mini-nuggets of excellence you’ll find from choosing a proprietary slots site.
- Slots & Games: Many independent sites have their own curated game selections that are varied from the big platforms. Some, like Happy Tiger, have games catalogues built on the bespoke games that they’ve created themselves. Some of the games on that site you literally won’t find anywhere else. This business model also enables them to offer different types of welcome bonuses.
- Welcome Offers: Many of these sites have much more interesting welcome offers with exciting components that you just won’t find with the big platforms. Often, these sites just have more latitude to experiment with the types of bonuses that they can bring their players. Many of these sites have no deposit slots components (like NetBet) or no wagering slots components. The majority of the brands listed offer these, unlike the majority of online casinos. As some experienced gamblers may know, the rules around what welcome bonuses a site can offer changed in January 2026, due to new rules from the UKGC. Most of these top quality sites were not overly affected, and will not feel the pain some more mainstream sites will face. Another reason to sign up at one of these!
- Designs & Themes: With these independent slot sites, you’ll find quirky and different designs, like MrQ or Kwiff Casino. With the big platforms, their multitudes of sites often look and feel very similar.
- Terms and Conditions: Check the T&Cs of these casino software alternatives as you may find them preferable to some of the big corporations. Think of them like small businesses who care about their communities!
- Individual Licences: Many of these independent sites are the only brand on their licence. This means the rules for depositing and withdrawing may not be as stringent. That’s always a big advantage when looking for a new casino! Some networked casinos have limits to how many you can sign-up at and you may hit affordability and financial vulnerability checks too quickly. This is something me and my colleagues come across frequently when signing up at casinos. The current threshold for higher grade checks is £125 net losses per month, and this applies across a licence. If you don’t want to hit such small limits, and the documents required make it non-frictionless, then these could be the sites for you!
Who are these independent casino sites not for? – The Disadvantages
I have spent a lot of time extolling the virtues of these independent brands because often they are the best and most sought after products by players. However, that will not necessarily be true for everyone. Some of these lone wolves can be a little quirky…
So if you like the might, the security, the manpower, the efficiency and the backing of a big network behind your casino brands, then these independent casinos might not be for you. The main red flags I’ve found that could irk some traditional casino players are as follows.
- Small Games Catalogues: If you’re used to a casino having literally thousands of slot games (think Skill-on-net with 6,000 plus), some of these brands might seem a bit provincial. For example, when Gentleman Jim first launched it pretty much only had Pragmatic Play games. To be fair they’ve expanded since, but it gives you a sense of the different leagues some of these sites are in.
- Lacking Infrastructure: Recently, we’ve run into some issues when trying to sign-up at some of these independent sites. For example at 36Vegas, where without an automated, credit-checking affordability system, new players were being asked to provide manual documentation before they could even sign-up. We understand the need for due diligence and KYC measures to protect vulnerable players, but Deary Me it’s not the nineties anymore!
- Debit Card Only: This is a familiar sight for those signing up at smaller indy casinos. It makes sense for a small operation to only accept debit cards as a payment method because most people use them and there’s less of a risk of abuse or fraud from the customers for the business. However, some people really do prefer the extra layer of online protection that e-wallets like PayPal and Paysafecard afford them, or banking adjacent products like Trustly. For maximum choice, you’re probably going to want to go to a big network.
- Risk of Collapse: Unfortunately, we live in quite a volatile time in the UK gambling market. With the tax rises and bonus changes, things are a little uncertain. Frankly, small casinos have always popped up and disappeared from the market. The smaller the enterprise, the higher the likelihood it may just go bust one day and disappear. For those who want a little more long term sureness, go with the big behemoth that’s existed for a decade or two and can weather any storm!
- Dodgy Sites: We, of course, do not feature any unregulated casinos and I have personally lobbied for their removal from the UK internet. Unfortunately, some slip the net and they can be accessible. If you want to be safe, only choose from independent casinos which feature in the list on this page. All are 100% UKGC licensed and regulated!
