Proper Bet, launched towards the end of Summer 2026, is an new and independent casino betting site; the type our players really love!
I became aware of Proper Bet when their new and unique licence was confirmed on the Gambling Commission register in August 2026. The brand launched almost immediately after!
I did some digging around; Proper Bet is a new venture from a legendary Australian company called Racing and Sports. They’ve been around for years Down Under, and are one of the most well respected horse racing companies in the country. They’re now bringing all that expertise to the UK market. It’s the best of both worlds; something fresh and independent from people who really know what they’re doing!
How we Rated this Brand
- Offer Quality – 4/5 – Proper Bet has a good but not spectacular free spins welcome offer. The number of spins and the Big Bass slot they’re eligible on are plusses. The high wagering requirements on any winnings are negatives. This is good enough for a score of 4.
- Game Choice – 3.5/5 – As with other start-up sites powered by Playbook, the initial slot catalogue is small. We expect them to add more slot developers over the coming months. That’s not to say that overall, there’s not a good selection of games. You have sportsbook, casino, live casino, virtual games, crash games and scratch games. Pretty good!
- Payment Methods – 3/5 – Again, as with other sites on the platform, it’s mostly Debit Cards. This means the site cannot score more than 3, unless they introduce other options. History tells us this is unlikely.
- Navigation – 5/5 – As with other Playbook sites, the navigation and the design is near flawless. An easy five.
- Customer Support – 4/5 – Overall this is okay, but I’ve found it’s quite hard to get in touch with customer support quickly. I would recommend Proper Bet invest in upgrading their chat systems.

Proper Bet has a new casino welcome offer, with a slightly lower minimum deposit amount. Another of note of caution; the wagering requirements are fairly high on the welcome offer (in fact they are pretty much as high as they can be). I would still rate the offer as pretty good, and a perfectly decent welcome into their small but well formed games catalogue. But we wouldn’t be a good comparison site if we didn’t compare… and there are some recently launched sites like Stakewise or BetLegend that have lower wagering requirements.

As is often the case with new, independent Playbook launches, the games selection starts small and tends to grow. Given this site literally just launched, I’m not surprised to see Pragmatic Play the only major developer providing the gaming catalogue. However, if we had to choose just one provider to kickstart a new site, it probably would be Pragmatic Play. They’ve created hundreds of legendary slots (just head to the Popular Slots tab to see what I mean…).
Pragmatic Play are not just slot monkeys; they offer Arcade and Crash games as well as a great live casino product. They’re launching new live games all the time. Proper Bet has Colour Game Bonanza which is a brand new live dice game with, you guessed it, incredibly vibrant colours. I was pretty sad when Pragmatic Play announced they were shutting down their bingo product, but if they’re turning their attention to innovative new games like this, then I can’t complain!

The Proper Bet sportsbook is a proper product, powered by Playbook and proven by the likes of BetWright.
