Ticket to the Stars - Slot of the Month: February 2019
This February, we’ve been waiting for the right slot to come along and sweep us of our feet. That moment happened a couple of days ago on the 12th February, when we fell in love with Ticket to the Stars by Quickspin. This growing Swedish developer was snapped up by Playtech in March 2016. However, their slots have maintained their quirky, unique flavour that is both retro and totally futuristic at the same time. They haven’t let Playtech change them; three cheers for artistic integrity.
Ticket to the Stars does exactly what you want a Quickspin slot to do; take you on a no holds barred mythical journey to an exciting new world. This time you’ll be blasted off into the stars. And that’s why it is our Slot of the Month for February 2019. Enjoy!

Design
As we mentioned, Ticket to the Stars has a retro-futuristic design, mixing robots with 1950’s aircraft pursers. This was no accident. The Chief Product Officer at Quickspin, Erik Gullstrand, illuminated the unlikely historical inspiration for the slot.
“Our team has combined the futuristic idea of touring the galaxy with the stylish look of vintage Work Projects Administration posters, accompanied by beautiful audio compositions.”
The Work Projects Administration was the brainchild of the US Government as a part of the New Deal in 1932. Having gone through the torrid Great Depression of the late twenties, early thirties, the WPA was a publicly funded works organisation that intended to get America back to work, as well as creating new public infrastructure like roads and buildings. Between its founding and dissolution during the Second World, it employed almost 10 million Americans. In order to appeal to workers, they created beautiful art-deco posters which envisioned an almost utopian future through group work.
