Matchbingo – The Basics

You download a bingo card for a specific event, watch the event and tick off the boxes as they occur. That, of course, is just for fun, but what if you could turn that concept into an actual online bingo game? That’s where Matchbingo come in.
For any football match of note, whether it’s Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League etc, there will be a corresponding game with a prize pot. Once you start, you’ll get a bingo card with 15 randomly generated boxes of events that could happen throughout the match. They are equally split between events that occur on either team, and 3 that could be either. These could be anything like a goal, a free kick, a corner.
How do you Win?
As these events occur in the match, your bingo card will automatically cross off a box. You will win prizes if you cross off:
- 1 line (five horizontal events)
- 2 lines (two sets of five horizontal events)
- A Full House – (all events on your card) – If you’re the first to get a Full House, you’ll get the maximum jackpot!
You may be thinking, what if there are no matches going on at the moment? Do I just have to wait? No, of course not!
Matchbingo also has ongoing historical games. You can pick a match from the prior season to buy a card for. The card will randomly generate 15 events and then mark off whether they happened or not. Unlike a live match, you’ll see pretty instantly whether you’ve won a prize or not!
Is it betting?
The cost of purchasing a bingo card for a match is around the same as a scratch card, so it’s not the same as sports betting where you place bets of any size. The game itself is much more akin to casual bingo. This is an inventive use of a second screen to supplement watching the sports you love. It’s a bit of light fun!
How about Bingoals?
The game that deviates slightly from the formula is Bingoals. The concept is the same, in that once you buy a card, you get 15 randomly generated entries that you need to score 1 line, 2 lines or a Full House on. However, rather than focusing on one match, it takes into account all the matches going on during the day. Each event is a team that is playing that day, and once they score a goal, they’ll fill in. Beyond that the rules are the same; the fastest person to score a Full House (ie. have all the teams on their card score a goal the quickest), they will win the largest prize.
Design & User Experience
Matchbingo is a mobile game that is played on an app. If you visit via desktop, you will be given a QR code to scan and download the app. If you click straight through our link on mobile, you’ll be taken to the requisite app store on your phone.
