Iconic Rubik's Cube Now a Slot Game
Rubik’s Cube, perhaps the most iconic puzzle game of all time, has been reborn as a video slot exclusively available on Buzz Bingo.
The new slot game was developed by Playtech, who announced yesterday that the limited exclusive release would only be found on the popular UK bingo site.
Buzz Bingo runs on the Virtue Fusion bingo platform, which is owned and operated by Playtech after they snapped up the software almost a decade ago. The site is now practically Virtue Fusion’s standard bearer despite only having launched a couple of years ago. The company’s Digital Operations Officer, David Evans, said of the launch, “Millions worldwide have grown up with Rubik’s Cube, so for our exclusive launch of the new slot, we really wanted to capture the spirit of what must be the most famous puzzle on the planet.”
What is a Rubik’s Cube?
The brand new, exclusive slot is based on the iconic, handheld puzzle toy which is present in almost every single household in the world. The Rubik’s Cube was invented Erno Rubik, an eastern European sculptor and architect. Originally known as the Hungarian Magic Cube, it was rebranded in 1980 and immediately became one of the world’s best selling toys.
The cube has now sold hundreds of millions of units and is considered by many to be the best selling toy of all time.
The company that makes Rubik’s Cubes has fully endorsed the new slot game with the Global CEO Christopher Bettin stating, “We’ve worked very closely with Playtech to bring the legendary Rubik’s Cube to life in this new slot game, and are delighted with the results.”
