Newport Bingo Hall Donates £3500 To Charity
Castle Bingo in Newport, Wales, has made a donation of £3500 towards this year’s Mayor of Newport charities. Last week they presented the cheque to the Mayor of Newport, Councillor David Fouweather, and his wife Paula. The couple also met some of the most loyal members of the club.
Councillor Fouweather has chosen to support St David’s Hospice Care, Motivation and Learning Trust and Amazing Grace Spaces.
Castle Bingo, in Usk Way, has been in business for over 10 years, and is a favourite haunt for many bingo-loving locals.
“Uskway opened in 2006 and has supported the Mayor’s charities since the beginning,” said a spokeswoman for Castle Bingo, speaking to South Wales Argus. “Our members donate generously throughout the year and our teams of managers and staff often have specific fundraising events- some have recently climbed Pen- Y- Fan. In the past they have done bike rides, amongst others. We even had one manager doing a marathon.”
Councillor Fouweather showed his appreciation for the donation.
“The very generous donation from Castle Bingo was collected by the players at the Newport venue,” he said. “I would like to thank the owner, staff and clients for this donation it shows that Castle Bingo really are a company that has Newport at its heart.”
