Apple Pay had been in development for some time. In 2013, negotiations began with card companies like American Express, Visa and Mastercard as well as with certain banks around the world. Much of this planning and dealing was done in secret. Finally, the launch of Apple Pay was announced in 2014, a year later. This was at the same time as the launch of the iPhone 6. In the announcement, Apple focused on the strength of the security of the Apple Pay method. Tim Cook, the CEO, pointed out that consumers had lost faith in the classic, plastic card. In his estimation, people no longer trusted the reliance on the magnetic strip and the PIN code. In July 2015, the method was finally launched in the United Kingdom. Although there was a fairly gradual catching-on process, the payment method is now widely used in person and on online. How to Set Up Apple Pay

In essence, Apple Pay means that you can make a payment with your mobile phone. Theoretically, you should never have to use your plastic card again. So how do you go about setting it up? After that, you may be asked to enter some further details like your address and the 3 digit number on the back of your card. Your device will then contact your bank to confirm all your details. You will probably receive a code via text, which you will then have to enter to confirm your account. This process takes no longer than a couple of minutes. Once the bank card has been confirmed, it is added to your phone’s wallet. You can now use your Apple Pay.

How to Use Apple Pay

At a physical shop, you simply need to look out for anywhere that accepts contactless payments. Then , when making a payment, hold your phone to the reader with your fingerprint held to the Touch ID pad. However, for making an online bingo deposit, you’ll usually have to be on your iPhone. Once you have chosen Apple Pay as your method of choice, your device will recognise that your card is stored in the system. Your phone will then show a message confirming the amount and how to make your payment via Apple Pay.
